Seeing the good in everything even when a candle gets kidnapped!

Seeing the good in everything even when a candle gets kidnapped!

Remember what it was like to get a letter from a friend in the mail? One where there's actual sentences and not a snappy-cracky-bullet point in sight? Well, hello pen pal and thank you for ripping your e-envelope open!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have found it so awkward and perhaps inappropriate to write about things that just didn't really seem to matter compared to what's going on in the world and right here at home.

A friend (shout out to Fi!) described my stagnant/paralysis feelings to me lately as 'languishing' - read about it in the NY Times, it's a thing!

As I was struggling with this, I saw this quote: "Be happy not because everything is good, but because you can see the good in everything".

And for me, this helped me leave the paralysis I'd been feeling for a while - and so in the spirit of seeing the good, here's a little-long update on how evry.word is travelling because yes, it's been a while between drinks!

Our application to exhibit at the Melbourne’s Big Design Trade in July was accepted!

The Big Design Trade is Australia's premier retail trade platform for original, ethically made gifts and design. It's pretty surreal and sounds FAR too pro for a beginner like me. Am I set up for huge wholesale orders? Omigoodness no!! I’m quietly freaking out about it but who knows! It might go really well or it might just be a day of dodging tumbleweed. This will be my first market-ty thing so if you have any tips, PLEASE do comment below – I am a sponge ready to soak up any learnings you may have!

Business Bloopers - the stolen candle.

Swiped right out a mailbox, one of our evry.word candles was taken. Kidnapped so close to where I lived, this one really hit home. AND, it was the first crime against evry.word humanity!

It was a gift for Georgia's mum in early Feb, but instead weeks passed before I found out what happened. Thank you Georgia for following this up and being so understanding. I do my very best to get your candles out the door in 1-2 days, so it should never take longer than about a week to arrive.

If things feel a bit suspiciously slow, please do email me at myorder@evryword.com.au asap! Georgia, I hope your mum loved her candle!

Find us on Google!

It's taken a while to learn all the things you have to do to stand out in this internet world, but we've finally got a presence on Google! #cantwaittobefamous

If you happen to find us, please leave a review! As a thank you in advance, use the code 'GOOGLEME' for 15% off your next order!

And so that's it for this update, but there is much more to come and I hope to have a few good customer stories to share.

Speak soon.

-Amanda
